預防疫苗

DHPPI

包括狗瘟、肝炎、病毒性腸炎、鉤端螺旋體病和副流 感病毒。

幼⽝疫苗接種：分別在8、12和16星期接種⾸3⽀幼⽝ 疫苗。 加強劑：每年⼀次 如果您的狗狗錯過了任何預防疫苗，主⼈應帶儘快狗 狗接種預防疫苗，並建議在1個⽉後打加強劑。

狂⽝病

⾹港法律規定狗隻需定期打狂⽝病預防疫苗。

⾸次接種：5-6個⽉⼤ 同時植⼊AVID晶⽚和申請狗 牌。 加強劑：每3年⼀次。

狗房咳

狗房咳預防疫苗不是常規疫苗，但當狗狗⼊住狗酒店 時，⼤多數都會被要求接種此疫苗。 ⼜或者如果您的狗狗會經常到狗公園或美容院，或會 不時接觸其他狗狗，我們建議狗狗接種狗房咳預防疫 苗。 ⾸次接種：12-16星期⼤ 加強劑：每年⼀次

L4

鉤端螺旋體病 預防鉤端螺旋體病。可是，尚未有⼀種疫苗能覆蓋所 有種類的鉤端螺旋體病菌。 如果您的狗狗會不時到郊外地⽅、游泳或從⽔坑喝 ⽔，我們會建議狗狗接種L4鉤端螺旋體病預防疫苗。 ⾸次接種：12和16星期 加強劑：每年⼀次

 

⼼絲蟲
⼼絲蟲是由蚊傳播，因此，所有狗狗都應透過以 下⽅法預防⼼絲蟲：

l   PROHEART⼼絲蟲預防針：每年⼀次

l   HEARTGARD或NEXGUARD：每⽉⼀粒⼝服藥

l   Revolution：每⽉滴頸⼀次

l   12星期或以上⼤的狗狗應開始預防⼼絲蟲

 

杜蟲

腸道寄⽣蟲包括絛蟲、鉤蟲、蛔蟲和鞭蟲。

幼⽝應每⽉杜蟲⼀次，直到六個⽉⼤， 其後應每 3 - 6 個⽉杜蟲⼀次。

常⾒的杜蟲藥牌⼦包括DRONTAL 和 POPANTEL。

 

絕育

我們建議6個⽉或以上的寵物接受絕育⼿術。 除了能預防懷孕外，其他好處包括降低患乳腺瘤的 ⾵險，預防⼦宮、睾丸及前列腺疾病的機會.

 

預防跳蚤和⽜蜱

所有狗狗都應該預防跳蚤和⽜蜱。⽜蜱熱是⾹港 常⾒且危險的疾病，可導致狗狗嚴重貧⾎。使⽤ 預防產品可以顯著降低被⽜蜱叮咬的⾵險。

Frontline或Revolution滴劑：每⽉滴頸⼀次 BRAVECTO：每三個⽉⼝服⼀次 NEXGUARD：每⽉⼝服⼀次


並沒有任何產品能提供100%的預防，為提⾼保 護，我們也會建議狗狗配帶預防⽜蜱的頸帶。 SERESTO有效 7 - 8 個⽉，並且是防⽔的。

General Preventative Medicine for Dogs

 

Vaccinations

 

DHPPiL – prevents against canine Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Leptospirosis and Parainfluenza virus. The first vaccine is usually given at 6-8 weeks of age, repeat 2 injections 4 weeks apart, then annual booster for life. If your dog has missed a vaccine, they can easily be restarted and a booster may be recommended after 1 month.

 

Rabies – done together with microchipping, compulsory in all dogs over 5 months old in Hong Kong. This vaccination needs to be updated every 3 years.

Kennel cough – required if your dog goes into boarding facilities. Also recommended if your dog mixes with other dogs at the park or grooming salon. Can be given at 12-16 weeks of age, then annual booster.

 

Leptospirosis (L4) – this protects against an additional 4 strains of the bacteria from the DHPPiL vaccine. It recommended for very active dogs who go hiking or outside frequently, especially if they like to swim or drink from puddles etc.

 

Heartworm

Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal infection of the heart, involving a parasitic worm, Dirofilaria immitis. Heartworm is spread by infected mosquitoes, which inject a heartworm larvae into a dog when they bite.

 

Deworming

Dogs are susceptible to a number of intestinal worm infections, including tapeworm, hookworm, roundworm and whipworm. Puppies should be treated for intestinal worms at each initial vaccination, and then every 3-6 months as an adult

 

Flea & Tick Prevention

Flea and tick prevention is recommended for all dogs. Tick fever is a common and dangerous disease in Hong Kong causing severe anaemia in dogs. Using tick prevention can dramatically reduce the risk of a tick bite.

 

Different types of products are available including monthly spot-on treatments such as Frontline and oral tablets such as Bravecto (every 3 months).

 

In addition to this, a tick collar is also recommended. Seresto lasts for 7-8 months and is waterproof.
